Regardless of the contaminant of issue, it is crucial to identify the optimum approach for the removal process to be employed in your water treatment solution. Each situation needs to be dealt with on a case-by-case basis, so a well-executed pilot study is essential. WETS’ ability to conduct a pilot study quickly and inexpensively is a clear differentiator for our company. WETS will mobilize its pilot study team to your site and conduct the appropriate studies on a slipstream of your water. Our pilot study report will lead to the design of a customized solution, and be part of the documentation for TCEQ or other regulatory approval.
WETS can offer a pilot study program to determine the optimal solution to a client’s needs. Due to the particular characteristics of well waters and surface waters, a well-executed pilot program is often the key step in a to develop the water treatment solution that provides proper water quality at an effective cost. In our 45+ years of experience, we have performed more than 100 successful pilot studies.
The pilot study is conducted at the site facility to demonstrate the performance of various technologies options proposed to the client. WETS provide portable and free-standing pilot units. Our pilot studies are carried out by a licensed professional engineer. Results are provided in a certified report, suitable for submittal to the appropriate regulatory authority for approval of the commercial water treatment solution. Our capabilities include pilot aerators, filtration systems, and chemical dosing. We have developed a customizable enclosed pilot trailer with a sophisticated control system to monitor and test on-site.
Prior to the start of the pilot study, a comprehensive pilot protocol is developed by WETS and shared with the client and interested parties. One of our experienced professionals then performs the on-site pilot study and collects samples. A complete report from our engineering department is available after receipt of laboratory data. The report includes process recommendations and a discussion of process efficiency.
Please note that our short-term pilot study program is mostly utilized for groundwater applications, where there is little seasonality to water quality. Surface water applications typically have a seasonality to water quality, and therefore are more limited in the conclusions to be drawn from a single short-term study.
